But in the end, Neuvillette is just an ordinary man. A lonely man.
He’s not quite sure what he had been thinking adopting a child, much less three. Perhaps his loneliness had gotten the better of him after all these years. But upon seeing the children’s wary faces and their guarded nature, he couldn’t help but want to give them a shelter. A place to call home.

Most kids his age grow up listening to tales about the Fae. Most children are warned of the dangers. But to them the precautions that are taken is nothing but over-cautiousness.
For Freminet, it’s to save himself from meeting the same fate as his mother.
Though he’s not even sure if he’s going to escape from these ‘games’ as himself.When Freminet is lured into the forest and wrapped into a web of mind boggling trials. He believes he understands what Arlecchino wants from him. But the more he plays, the deeper he walks into the forest, his assumptions begin to unravel. And he discovers the reason he was brought into the realm is much more complicated than he thinks.

Freminet (+ Lyney and Lynette) are getting their first (nonconsensual) adoption interview! (No one wants to get adopted) Arlecchino and Neuvillette are going to have a mad custody battle.

"As he began catching his breath, he saw movement in the corner of his eye. With the sparse lighting, Freminet at first thought it was a figment of his imagination. But then he saw it again and his heart stopped.
It was a hulking shadow that barely had a form. As it approached him, though, he could make out more of it. A dragon, straight out of his favorite fairytales, was gracefully swimming towards him...
Freminet was entranced by the deadly beauty of the creature before him. When the dragon got close enough that its powerful swishes through the water jostled his body, he realized he should probably swim away.
He didn’t budge.
He couldn’t explain why he stayed there, essentially welcoming his gruesome death. Perhaps it was because death simply didn’t scare him, or maybe because the dragon was too resplendent to truly fear."
