Summary
Lucia the Human, Wild Witch, Apprentice of the Owl, and Hero/Enemy of the Scalding Archipelago depending on who you asked, has had a rough couple of years. Between the constant threat to her loved ones, and costs she's had to take to protect them, she's reached her breaking point. In desperation, she has decided the best thing to do is to go back to Human Realm.
(But that isn't what really want, isn't it? You want a way to go back to who you once were, and prevent yourself from making the same mistakes.)
In hindsight, she should have expected using the written language of a dead god to open a rift in space-time to have unforeseen consequences. But maybe she can prevent Luz from going down the same path.

They come to the reasonable conclusion that this means they are now in a Mirror Universe.
And then the less reasonable conclusion that means that the local Luz Noceda must secretly be evil.

A couple slips of the tongue is all it takes for the entirety of Vaugarde to become convinced that Mirabelle and Isabeau have gone through an epic romance - the greatest of the ages - that most can only dream of. Now, it's up to Mirabelle and Siffrin to keep up the illusion to the rest of the world, and make sure their party can never ever find out about this.
(aka, mirabelle panics, siffrin has a crisis, isabeau's only half-clueless, and no matter what the tabloids say, the fake dating stays fake dating)
