A well-written 'choose your path' Hetalia story. It is a unique concept wherein the reader is interning at the UN and gets to meet up with her once-long-acquainted friends, the personified countries. So far, I've only read the Canada and America path up to The First Stop.

Summary
The kitchen was the space you should have realized you wouldn't be able to peacefully share with Alastor. Two strong cooks just can't share, no matter how big the kitchen. He wishes to see you choke and you can't say you don't share similar sentiments.
This doesn't stop you from taking it too far one day and setting off a chain of events for the two of you that will permanently alter the course of your afterlife's.
And surely why not let it grow more complicated by adding in the additional factor of Lucifer?? Afterall, he might be the only one who has any real answers for what you're both experiencing.

Summary
The Medusa Complex, a dissociated state produced by paralysis of the fight-or-flight response while petrified with fear.
Under mysterious circumstances, you wind up alive in Hell and attempt to unravel the reason why, all the while trying to face Hell's hazards by disassociating to a calm, stoic state.
Good luck with that.
Even with the pledged help of the Princess of Hell herself, as you cling to your sanity and attempt to remain sin-free until you figure out how to get back to Earth alive, circumstances pitch you headfirst into a nightmare. In the manipulative hands of Hell's most powerful Overlords, a successful return does not look likely.
Would that really be so bad? Technically yes. But potentially not for you.
A dark romp built around two main premises and the consequences of both:
1. Overlords are assholes, especially Alastor.
2. You absolutely do not escape Vox this time, reader.The spicier/explicit tags are concentrated in chapters starting with LUST in the title.
DISCLAIMER as of 1/12/2024: Pre-34 chapters are written PRE SHOW RELEASE so huge amounts of speculation were used! Prior chapters may be edited slightly later.

So...fair warning....this is a very well-written but rapey fanfic (like, it seems like a bunch of the trauma discussed in this fic is about rape and non-consensual sexcapades...affecting SEVERAL characters, not just the MC). It's uncomfortable in a lot of ways, but it's also perhaps the most realistic in terms of how the structure and operations of hell would affect those who reside there. I also want to add that the way the author wrote all of the characters pre-show-release is FLAWLESS. From Alastor to Angel Dust, to Husk and Niffty. Even the Vees. ALL OF THEM ARE ACCURATE DEPICTIONS...at least to how one would expect them to act given the information we know about them all. The only two that are most different to their show personas are Rosie and Velvette, but even then, the direction their characters were taken in this story was, frankly, genius.
I do wish the main character/reader's personality was a little clearer. She seems all over the map, ranging from freaked out to confident bitch-queen. I can't tell half the time if the reader's actions are an act or are her natural reactions to things. But eh, it's made up for with the many layers to her character that make me root for her. <3 And that alone means she's a more well-written character than I could provide, so who am I to judge? haha
This story has not been updated in, like, a year (it's been left on Ch. 33 since Dec 2023). So fingers crossed that the story will continue!! I would love to see the reader be redeemed and overcome her downfall (beat the odds where it seems like everyone is against her except for Charlie and Baxter). By the way, I now have a thing for that little mad scientist gentleman thanks to this story. I came here for the Alastor & Reader tag, but stayed for the incredibly descriptive world-building...and Baxter. hahaha

Flawless characterization of Alastor as a sadistic MFer. hahaha And the horror buildup in each chapter is also done incredibly well, albeit a little slow. Although the story has been orphaned, this is still a great one to look back on for inspiration.
