Hríd is a wealthy prince from far up north, cooped up in his castle with his trauma ever since his surviving sisters left the nest. During these years, he's developed a fascination with an obscure, quirky, turn-based RPG known as Sad Blonde Orphan Quest. Specifically, he's obsessed with the titular protagonist, and regularly commissions cutesy art of himself with her. A sweetheart of the tight-knit SBOQ community, he also dyed the tips of his hair to look like the protag's love interest and insists that everyone in his Fehtter circles call him Lilac. He's a fit guy but kind of chronically online.
When he's not doing sex work or working as a bouncer at the local maid cafe, Griss is a notorious online Rule34 artist with hundreds of thousands of followers. His most popular works involve his (faceless) self insert with piercings and the sad blonde protagonist getting it on in gruesome ways, so he's the only person Hríd has blocked on Fehtter. They've never seen each other's faces, however. When they meet in person for the first time by sheer coincidence, they hit it off. Hríd is oblivious to his new friend's dark secret.

Summary
Dr. Veritas Ratio, a marine biologist working with the Jade Center for Marine Wildlife Conservation, has hit a dead end.
After over ten years of fighting a losing battle, trying to convince the common people to care about the world's oceans, he was beginning to grow disillusioned with his work. He had spent so much of his life focused on this goal - was any of it worthwhile? What's the point in trying to protect something that so few people seem to care about?
However, when one of the team's research trips leads to the discovery of a strange new species — a humanoid, semi-aquatic creature calling himself 'Aventurine' — Veritas is forced into action. An important truth about the world existed within the mystery of Aventurine's origin, and he was going to do whatever it took to uncover it.
But the sea does not give up her secrets so easily, and neither does Aventurine. There were many obstacles standing between Veritas and the answers he's been seeking, and some involve acknowledging uncomfortable truths about himself that he's been avoiding.

Yaldabaoth had been told of the Mythical Trickster. He had laid out the plans for his game expertly, all the pieces and threads in place, ready to pull the Trickster into the trial that would determine humanity's fate.
His plan, however, did not account for what he actually received: Twin Tricksters.
