Summary
It’s a well known fact that Buck is a good guy. Everyone knows that. Hell: the LAFD as a whole probably knows how good of a guy Buck is. He did save a dozen people during the tsunami while he was off duty while he was recovering and on blood thinners. A feat that the 118 hadn’t been aware of until one year after the tsunami, when one of the victims spoke up and named him as Firefighter Buck. The LAFD had recognized him for his bravery and Buck? He’d brushed it off like it was nothing.
So yeah, Buck’s a good guy. A great guy. But does he know how great he is? You would tell him and he would probably brush it off and tell you he’s just as good as everyone else.
The 118 know this, of course they do, but it all starts to come into clarity for them on a
stormy day when Buck shows up to work looking like a wet dog and one by one, they notice the little things that Buck does for them.Or: a 7+1 where the 118 realize just how GOOD Buck is. Comfort, no hurt.

Summary
"What are you up to?"
Buck leans in and kisses him soundly, thumb stroking over the nape of Eddie's neck. "Nothing."
"Buck…" Eddie warns.
"Nothing, I swear!" He laughs, "Just wanted to do something nice for you. Is that a crime?"
Eddie squints at him wordlessly. He's up to something. He's definitely up to something.
Eddie supposes he's going to find out soon enough.

“That’s—That’s all you have to say?” Buck demands, and he sounds furious. “After—After nine fucking years, that’s all you have to say?”
“What do you want me to say, Buck?” Eddie says hotly, trying to piece himself back into something resembling whole. “I’m your—Jesus, I’m your best man, what the hell do you want me to say?”
I love you. Don’t marry him. Please don’t marry him, I love you so much. Oh, God, I love you. Please, please don’t do this. Don’t marry him. I hate him. Don’t fucking go with him. I love you. Please. Please. Please, baby. I love you, don’t fucking marry him. I love you.

Summary
Buck’s not really sure what to say here, so he doesn’t say anything. For a minute they stand there in total silence, the TV muted, and looking at Eddie – the defeated slump of his shoulders, the hand over his mouth, the eyes staring blankly at nothing – it’s like those modern art installations one of Buck’s exes used to take him to: Man, with broken heart.
Man, eviscerated.
Buck’s no good with people being sad around him – it always feels like his responsibility, like if they aren’t smiling it’s his fault, and this time it really is his fault, at least partially, so he offers, “You can beat me up, if it would make you feel better.”
