Summary
Where Light is hot, L should be chilly. Where Light is determined, L should be detached. Light is certain of what justice is and that people are either moral or appalling - and L should think that justice is relative, a concept that societies define, people’s ethics float naturally in the endless shades of grey.
Light will be flaming, and L will be calm. An observer before an executioner. Logic-first, in contrast with Light’s conviction-first approach.
Someone overly focused. Never distracted, not honestly. Fishing for any scrap of evidence and dissecting it before devouring it with a gaze so all-consuming and everlasting he might as well be perpetually unblinking.

Light, having not seen L once, fantasises about what L might be like.
It turns out to be eerily close to the truth.Bookmarked by MicrovawedPlastic

Meanwhile, L is wondering why his favorite killer seems to no longer want him dead.

Summary
L Lawliet was born in the year 1631, and left on the doorsteps of an English orphanage.
Frozen in time at the age of 24 due to a run in with a vampire, in modern day L is now one of the greatest detectives in the world. When a serial killer known as Kira begins to kill criminals through heart attacks, L agrees to take on the case.
When he realizes one of the suspects is Light Yagami though, everything about the case changes.
Because since 1655, L has seen that face countless times through countless lifetimes. Because even though his name changes with every new lifetime granted, L somehow always runs into him. Somehow, he always seems to be at the source of L's problems, no matter the century.
So L knows as soon as he sees Light Yagami, that he has to be the one he's searching for
aka L is a vampire and somehow always finds a reincarnated Light every few decades, and even though Light has no memory of his past lives, he almost always is the cause of L's issues. It's only more of a headache that L falls in love with the bastard every time too.

Summary
“Has anyone ever told you that you’re strangely captivating when you're spiraling?”
All of the movement, all of the chatter, everything halted.
AKA: Light stumbles across a life-changing revelation: flirting with L shuts him up. Naturally, he abuses this power—then just loses the plot entirely.
