Summary
The Fate's Hand is a supernatural phenomenon that consists of marking people with the name of their soulmate. Only a minority of people possess it, so they must face challenges throughout their lives, either in the company of their Destiny or alone.
But what happens when your soulmate turns out to be the person you thought you were destined to hate all your life? What if that person tried to steal your girlfriend or throw you off a cliff? What if that person is someone you have to beat in a karate tournament?
Daniel and Johnny are those people whom fate has decided to bring together. They're two strangers, two enemies, two boys.
Whether for better or for worse, both are now forced to face these challenges in the midst of a closed society that denies the existence of soulmates, much less accepts the possible union between two men like them.

There was an envelope on the table. It was thick paper, and closed with a golden seal.
Lance picked it up and stared at it. He knew what it was. He had already decided that he wasn’t going. He couldn’t bring himself to. He could barely bring himself to open it.
He tossed it into the trash can.

When Daniel did not respond, Mr. Miyagi answered his own question. “You do only thing you know how: show no mercy. But then, something happen that make you see you lose your way. How to find way back?”
“Look for a different way, I guess,” Daniel said, “and hope it leads to something better?”
Mr. Miyagi nodded. “Hai. Now you understand. We must show compassion, Daniel-san, to those who were not taught well. Teach them different way, show them new path. Show them something better is possible.”
In the immediate aftermath of the 1984 All-Valley Tournament, what if Daniel and Mr. Miyagi hadn’t left Johnny behind in the parking lot after Kreese attacked him?

"Johnny ended up only getting sicker.
The disease seemed to be progressing faster than anyone thought. A few days after Johnny threw up dahlia petals at the dojo, Johnny was spitting out larger petals, even ones that were just the head. They weren't totally formed, but they still scared the others.
“This isn't normal, right?” Tommy asked as Johnny pulled out a petunia head covered in spit and blood. Johnny held back the urge to yell at him."
Johnny gets Hanahaki Disease, but at first, he can't figure out who it is. However, he has a theory. But this theory could change his life. And maybe even end it.
