Keith was making his morning round circling the borders of the whale when he felt it. His vision blacked and his heart raced. Based off a TikTok I saw where Keith could sense Lance die in season 6 episode 1, I was annoyed that I couldn't find any fics so I took matters into my own hands. Be warned; I have not seriously written anything klance related since 2018 and I may have grammar and phrasing mistakes, and lots of monologuing. There may be continuity issues as I am self serving. Summary
Lance was the one who messed things up. Solo missions (though he made it up with an extra party day for the planet’s inhabitants), cooking in the castle (Hunk always ended up taking over Lance’s dinner days anyway), and even training (no matter how much Shiro helped him with his new Bayard settings).
Of course, he’d mess up the one time it actually mattered, too.

Lance stilled. Keith stilled. Lance’s eyes grew wide and without a second of thought, he shot up from the cot and ran out the door. Keith let him. What else could he do, run after the love of his life and apologize for being fake-angry?
