Summary
Picks up in the car after the Suwa family showdown in Ep.12.
They have been partners for years, and they still are. They're just a different kind now, I guess? After making the drastic (and arguably psychotic) plan to leave the hitman business, Kazuki and Rei are forced to make a huge life transition. They have to become normal people. As they work together to adapt to this new and confusing life they find themselves developing new and confusing feelings as well. A continuation of what the anime set up, they are just two "best friends" trying to find a way through their mental illness, past trauma, and their everyday lives together. Unless, maybe there's more to it than that?
I wanted to dive into their near future but also elaborate on their past. So every chapter I am trying to include a current event and a related memory.

Summary
Rei eating a hundred different dinners. Seeing a hundred new sights. Barging into Kazuki’s bedroom every single night to check that his window was locked. Asking how to do laundry. Rei learning how to cook so he could help with the diner. Learning to drive, so he could pick Miri up from daycare and Kazuki from the bar at four in the morning. Rei saying welcome home. Rei, saying I love you a hundred different ways.
Shigeki never gave up trying to recapture his son. After three years of relentless pursuit, he closes in. In order to protect his family, Rei finally faces a confrontation he's been desperate to avoid.
