Summary
Will is going through some emotional turmoil because of post-delivery hormones messing with his head. As physical insecurity rises inside him, terrifying thoughts about his husband's actions and reactions for the last few weeks start to bubble up in his mind. Did he not look pleasing enough anymore?
It didn't help that he was horny and wanted Mike, his alpha to ravish him. The same alpha who had been avoiding touching him intimately after he popped out their baby. Between suspicions and sexual wants, Will has some answers to seek, and Mike has some things to prove.

He tried to be nonchalant about it, pretended not to notice how Mike’s touch always implied a sort of possessiveness, like Will was his birthright. Ignored the sting that came from the pointed remarks Mike would throw at him now and then, things like “Oh, Will never told you about D&D?” or “You really don't know why WIll hates the cold?" Tried not to be resentful of the fact that ever since Mike entered their lives, Will’s nightmares had lessened.
So if he's being honest with himself, Carlton isn’t too shocked at what he finds when he comes home early from visiting his family.
When Mike finally reconnects with Will, Carlton realises he had no chance.

It was a new paintbrush set when Will showed a sliver of disappointment after his paintbrushes broke, a box of pens when his only pen ran out of tint, a dozen coffees, and a dozen night outs. It was a dizzying pattern, one that spent Will a couple sleepless nights. In his mind weren't his art assignments due next week, or an essay due in five hours, not even what he wanted to eat. In the corners of a hushed room that is his loud mind, stands a question waiting to be answered.
Will, as everyone knows, that whenever he opens his wallet—flies come rushing out. To put it in layman terms, he is broke. Really, really broke. Even with two jobs, money he seldom receives from his mom and older brother, he doesn’t have financial freedom. The typical broke, art major.
But, at least his childhood best friend with unbelievably full pockets is always there for him.

“Does it need to be like ceramics last semester? Do I need to drop you off and pick you up at the door again like a fucking preschooler?” Will shakes his head as best as he can, a whimper escaping from his lips. Mike grips his jaw tighter. “Speak.”
“N-no, Mike.” Yes, actually, Will wants to say. He liked it when Mike did that last semester, walking him to and from class like Will’s big, scary guard dog. Sometimes, if Will was lucky, Mike would wait in the hallway during his class, clutching some mass market paperback, spine cracked and curled in on itself. Even big, scary guard dogs have owners, Will would think as Mike stayed put for him.
In which someone asks for Will’s number and it makes Mike murderously angry.

“So?” Mike pulled a strand of his neck, making Will look up in the mirror to meet his dark eyes. “Tell me what you see, omega.”
Mike was a tall and imposing presence at his back, and Will melted on the inside at the sweet contrast they made—the white dress shirt stretched at Mike’s lean muscles exquisitely (the sight of his alpha being fully dressed while he was wearing nothing but little pieces of fabric was something that he didn’t want to forget), and his broad shoulders made Will seemed more little and softer than he was.
“Me,” he finally answered. “I see me.”
“And what else?” Mike pressed a kiss to his temple, the first of many to come—he began trailing a road of kisses up to his lips, stopping at the corner of Will’s mouth, just below his mole. “How do you see yourself, love?”
Will’s eyes roamed from his feet with bloated ankles, to his pregnant belly surrounded by stretch marks, up to his tilted, red face.
“Perfect. I look perfect,” he said, honesty dripping from his voice like honey.—Will feels insecure about his pregnant body, so Mike fucks him facing a mirror.

Then the chair next to him shifts, and before Will can even turn to see, Mike is there, extending his hand. No trace of nervousness, not even a hint—just small, genuine smile tugging at his lips as his eyes lock onto Will’s. Instinctively, Will takes Mike’s hand before a word is spoken.
“Dance with me,” Mike says softly.
“Are you—”
“Yes,” Mike interrupts, just as Will starts to protest, about how they don’t have to if he’s not comfortable. “I want to, if you want it too,” he adds.
Will smiles so wide it makes his cheeks ache for a moment. He rises from his seat, and in that instant, all the worries and nervousness from earlier dissolve. Everything heavy, everything bad, fades the second Mike’s hand is holding his.
