Summary

Buck didn’t fall so much as vanish. One moment he was there, framed by collapsing light and shadow, and the next, he was gone—swallowed whole by a roar of splintering concrete and churning dust.
“Buck!” Eddie’s voice cracked as he lurched toward the edge, but a wall of debris surged forward in reply, thick and deafening.
Eddie dropped into a crouch, ducking under a splintered steel beam, edges jagged like shrapnel. He shoved past a stunned paramedic without looking back, lungs burning. Then he was inside—in the wreckage of the building where Buck had disappeared.
His radio buzzed, fractured with static. “Diaz—Diaz, get back here, now—”
Eddie shut it off with a snap of his thumb.

Summary
Eddie, or Mr Diaz, as he’s currently being referred to, is in the middle of teaching 11th graders about the cold war when he feels it. At first, he thought he was imagining things, but then books are falling from high shelves and the projector is coming down- thankfully not landing on any students. He could not believe his luck- his first day at work in a new state and there is an earthquake. His brain immediately returns to a common topic that he thinks about - his family.
His son, Christopher, and his husband, Buck, are also having their first days and all Eddie can do is worry-

This is not something he ever saw himself having to deal with. He may have been kind of a slut at one point in his life, but he was always careful. It’s just, well, back then he was only sleeping with women, so it’s not like there was any chance of him ending up pregnant.

Summary
Eddie figured Buck could use the extra care and a small pick-me up after the tough shift yesterday. They had spoken before bed last night, Buck sounded worn out from the day but otherwise fine.
Eddie was looking forward to seeing him this morning, his alpha needs to have physical eyes on Buck to settle and has felt on edge all morning. Eddie reasoned with himself it's just the high stress call yesterday coupled with how Buck took it all but once he sees him today, he is sure would settle.
Eddie is heading back to his car when he gets a call from Bobby. “Hey Cap, what's up?”
“Eddie, have you heard from Buck? Athena asked him to check in this morning and we haven't heard anything. Eddie, He's not picking up the phone.” Bobby's panic is clear and it sets Eddie and his alpha on edge.

“You stuck-stuck, or… like, just emotionally stuck?”
“Physically,” the man calls out, clearly mortified. “Very physically.”
There’s something about his voice, an edge of familiarity that tickles at his brain and makes Eddie’s brows pull together.
He knows that voice.
Before Eddie can place it, Bobby steps forward, flipping on the overhead lights. “Alright,” he says calmly, surveying the room. “Let’s get to work.”
And that’s when it hits Eddie.
The glow of the lights reveals the man in full clarity, tousled curls, expressive face, wide blue eyes full of embarrassment, and Eddie’s stomach drops clean out of his body.
“Buck?” he blurts, eyes going comically wide.
Because it’s him.
Christopher’s favourite YouTuber, the one with the DIY science experiments, survival tips for kids, fifteen minute long videos about how cool octopuses are.
And now he is tied to a hotel bed in nothing but tight boxer briefs, his cheeks flushed a deep red, that is slowly creeping down his chest which is rising and falling fast in quiet horror.
Oh. My. God.
Or; Buck’s a YouTuber and the 118 save him from an embarrassing situation, and him and Eddie hit it off.

One time Buck and I signed up for this pen pal program, but the kid in Maine I was writing with gave up after two rounds of letters. It was during my ancient Egypt phase and I think I scared him off with my questions about mummies. Buck told me I was too cool for him anyway.
