Gut wrenching secret penpals AU with a depressed Enid bringing out the best in Wednesday.
Polarizing because they fall in love with their mutual penpals and “break up” only to discover they just fell in love twice. Very unsatisfactory and not very vindicating, but cathartic nonetheless with excellent prose and build up.

The Addams have a curse that strikes many in their line, but Wednesday had always avoided it, largely by avoiding people altogether. When a storm-drenched young woman shows up on her doorstep while her family is away on vacation, though, Wednesday's only thought is to have her sent away as soon as possible, but there's something strangely familiar about the girl. Something Wednesday can't put her finger, or any of Thing's, on. It hardly matters, though. She wants a simple favor, and then she'll be gone. Just a quick vision.

Wednesday gives Enid everything she ever deserved while Enid teaches Wednesday how to be a person. They dive into an ancient Addams family mystery and THE Sinclair family mystery both feet first.

Summary
Wednesday has spent the majority of her vacation denying her feelings because denying feelings is something she excels at but one letter and a handful of texts are all it takes to change that for her. So she invites Enid to come live at the Addams mansion for the rest of the summer, until the school year begins. To escape what is an inhospitable environment at home and to be welcomed into a family that can and will love her the way she deserves.

While this might be some of the most egregious lavender prose in the fandom, it’s way more engaging than my trope-choked grounded style. Something to reread in the future and learn from.
This summer-vacation style fic is chiefly amazing because it sincerely depicts two people cosmically obsessed with each other.
