After the Night Nurse attempts to take Edwin back to hell and Charles disposes of her into the sea monster Charles goes on a bit of a walk in an attempt to clear his head. When he gets back to the apartments hours later it turns out Edwin’s in the middle of a sensory overload panic attack pacing about the place clenching his hands together and generally not responding to anyone who’s trying to help. Charles has seen this before and he knows exactly what’s needed to help his friend. With the power of music Charles eases Edwin back to himself.

“Steve,” Eddie started, “I didn’t-”
“You didn’t what? Notice? Care? Nobody does!” Steve said, throwing his hands up, “I mean, do you how long it’s been since someone said they loved me? Even my parents can’t be bothered to say that shit! I have been waiting years for someone to notice that I"ve changed! That after everything I’ve been through, I’m still here! I’m not some idiot who peaked in high school!”
Caught in the insufferable silence, all he could do was cry.
