Summary
After delivering the decryption key to an intelligent human settlement, allowing them to be connected to other people worldwide, Mae chooses to go back to the Eagle Clan. Noa, now the leader of Eagle Clan and Master of Birds, allows her to live with them. Many of his fellow apes do not agree with his decision, and their treatment of Mae causes her to sleep outside even though Noa assigned her a tent to stay in as they rebuild. Disappointed in this, Noa allows Mae to stay with him for the time being—until the rest of the clan comes to accept her. Their first night together leads to a development in their relationship that neither of them expected!
OR
Mae has a nightmare while sleeping in Noa’s space in the aviary. Cuddling and comforting ensues!

Summary
The ape blinks. “What… are you wearing?” he asks.
“A wedding dress,” Mae responds, running a hand over the fabric in mild distaste. She never envisioned a wedding for herself: in a world governed by apes, there was no time for humans to engage in such frivolous festivities. The concept of a wedding has almost entirely died out amongst humans. Even the dress’s existence is a surprise.
To make peace between the humans and the apes, one representative from each species is chosen to bond with the member of the opposite species.
