Alec swallowed. He didn't know how to reply. This was what ruined him about Magnus Bane. The easy confidence, the glitter painted on his dark skin, the catlike stretch of his back as he bent to look over the body. There was something brazen about it, something beautiful, something terrifying.
“Last time I checked,” he finally said, “You do not work for the Victorian constabulary.”
“Not for lack of trying,” Magnus murmured, carefully lifting the victim’s arm with a gloved hand. “Interesting.” He flashed a smile up at Alec and kneeled down.
Alec sighed, and followed.
In which there is a mystery to solve, an Egyptian ritual, a brief musical number, a fight, and a romance.

Summary
Another breezy night and he can’t sleep. Maybe that’s why he sits cross legged in bed at 2 am with his communicator pressed to his chest. Maybe that’s why his breath catches so hard in his throat when Keith calls, for the first time in seven months.
Keith has always come in flashes, here then gone, then back stronger than before, different to the person Lance had known yet still ineffably Keith. Too much of something for Lance to understand.
The wind picks up as he stares at Keith’s name on the communicator, flashing blue then white then blue again. He picks up the call.

Very aware of the fact that he still hadn’t replied and had been staring at Potter for far longer than what was socially acceptable, he blurted out the first thing that popped into his head.
“You look terrible,” Draco said, “Didn’t you wear that dreadful outfit last time?”
The sad thing was that Potter didn’t even look shocked anymore. Instead, he laughed and nodded a little, smiling even more fondly. “You look fantastic.”
“I know.”

He paused on the threshold of the door between the pseudo-corridor and the seating area, and faintly corrected himself. Not as alone as he thought. Not as alone at all.
Sat by himself, with his chin resting on his hand, an arm loosely propped on the small table, an explosion of paper and assorted important looking documents in front of him, flask of (presumably) coffee held to his lips, was Kudou Shinichi, whose eyes had met Kaito’s when he walked into the carriage, had widened, and hadn’t looked away since.
In which there is a late night (or an early morning), a train, copious amounts of flirting, a phone, a name, and a stolen heart.
