Something flickers across Rozanov’s face. His jaw twitches. “Yes, I know about Lily.” He raises his eyebrows.
Hayden feels like a complete asshole, all of a sudden. There’s just been too much going on to even think about Shane’s mystery girlfriend. “Shit, I should probably, like, call her, or something? I don’t know this girl at all, but Shane’s been obsessed with her for years. If she was watching the game, she would have seen him get hurt.”
“You don’t need to call her,” Rozanov says, and when Hayden glances at him, he still looks fucking miserable but now he’s rolling his eyes, a much more familiar expression of disdain on his face. “She’s sitting right here.”

Shane is in love with Matt. They're in love and it's fine. It's better than fine really, Shane loves just about everything about Matt and he loves all of Matt's friends. Except for the big tall Russian one that wont stop staring at him like he knows something Shane doesn't. Like he's waiting for Shane to snap. Like he's begging Shane to do something.
And Shane won’t, obviously. Because Ilya is the type of man to reel you in and the leave you high and dry. Leave you looking for pieces of him in every new person that you meet, leave you looking for signs you didn't just make the whole thing up, like some wild fantasy that was born of monotony.
Oh, and he fact he has a boyfriend who he loves. A lot. It isn't monotonous. Its love.

Truly, their son was a testament to the quality of both their character’s–Shane’s soft underbelly nurtured by his father’s patient tone and earnest gaze and his shrewdness and talent sharpened by his mother’s fierce mettle. Shane was the sum of his parent’s parts, yet entirely his own, and Ilya was very grateful to the tender, yet firm, hands that had shaped the man he loved. “Ilya,” Shane says, propping himself up on his elbows. “Ilya, wake up.”
Ilya makes a pained noise, eyes still shut. “I shut curtains already.”
“It’s not that. Ilya, hey. Don’t go back to sleep.” Ilya tries to bury back into Shane’s chest, but adrenaline knifes through Shane’s hangover long enough for him to peel Ilya off and roll him into his back. Ilya blinks blearily up at him, starfished in the sheets. Beautiful and naked and missing his mother’s cross.
OR: When Ilya’s cross goes missing after the Centaurs celebrate their first Stanley Cup win, Shane is determined to get it back. And so are the Centaurs. And the rest of Ottawa.

Ayanna lifts a brow. “Fourteen was generous. Twelve of them looked like you stole them off college freshmen. Your gym chest cannot fit into regular tuxedo.”__
They were fine. Really. Everything between them was steady, manageable, almost ordinary, until one night, the sound of their laughter tasted like the relief they had been waiting for. Elliot and Olivia decide that that laughter needed to be bottled.

Olivia’s mind suddenly wandered back to Elliot’s eyes, all those years back, after being shot by Bushido. In that moment, Olivia felt that she was going to lose him and her tears flowed unabashedly. She didn’t know if he was conscious but remembered caressing his forehead in the ambulance and repeating “stay with me, El” “please don’t leave me”.
She was bereft and lost and in that moment of helplessness, she remembered Elliot’s God. She had raced to the tiny chapel of the hospital and begged God for his grace and promised Him - as long as Elliot was safe, she was willing to pay any price. The promise seemed almost innocent in that desperate moment for she didn’t know how to pray, or what to say to Him. She was only striking a deal, a plea bargain of sorts with a party who had more power. But God kept his side of the bargain and years later, when she packed up Elliot’s desk, she remembered that she had to keep hers.
Olivia Benson had prayed once and her wish was granted. She clung to that bargain. Now she is finding out that there is more that lies between living, almost dying and actually dying.
