Nancy decides to pay Eddie to befriend Steve because he is sad and lonely but also doesn’t want to talk to her after everything with Jonathan.
Eddie needs the money. To pay for his Uncle’s bills, to maybe buy something nice for himself, but in either case, he needs the money. Plus Harrington’s been slightly nicer ever since he broke things off with Hagen and Perkins.
And, Steve’s just happy to have a friend. For now…

Mike shook his head, believing that he hadn't heard his friend's sudden shift in tone correctly. "Excuse me?"
"Kneel Michael."
Tré clearly was either ignorant or fucking stupid because if he wanted Mike to do anything, using that name sure as hell wasn't going to get him his intended result. All Mike could do in his shock was stand dumbly, giving Tré a look that clearly stated, 'are you fucking crazy?'
"Kneel Mike." Billie's voice barked, snapping Mike out of his confused state. Looking between the two of them, it became clear this wasn't a fun joke, this was instructions he was failing miserably at. His thoughts started to click into place, almost all at once.
It was his turn.

I really enjoyed this and I can feel the frustration when he rolled a 20 as a DM myself that would fuck everything up, though in my own experience I have a player that has done that. Thankfully I was prepared.
