Louis snorted. “More dangerous than a pack of vengeful omegas arguing about who’s the prettiest? Please. I’m doing your alpha a public service by skipping this circus.”
The alpha’s brows lifted. “Oh yeah? And why’s that?”
“Because I’ll only insult him,” Louis said matter-of-factly, ticking it off on his fingers. “Make at least one omega cry, and deliver sarcastic commentary for two months straight. By the end of it, he’ll ship me home in a box labeled ‘return to sender.’”
The man laughed, “I highly doubt it. Sounds like exactly what he needs. A bit of drama and chaos.”
Louis smirked. “Then he must be leading a really boring life.”

He tried really hard to be a good husband and now he feels he was not enough and he's not made for marriage. He's not ready for a serious relationship, so a fling with younger Harry (perhaps still in his 20s) seems like exactly what he needs. The problem is, even if Harry is younger, he's looking for something serious and he's ready to show Louis how serious this is. Louis heals little by little. If the author decides to give Louis a child, then Harry bonds with them. If the author is amenable to mpreg, perhaps Louis gets pregnant by Harry and is surprised by how happy the other man is, how involved, and how much of a supportive partner he proves to be despite his age.

He rose slowly, heart ticking faster than the seconds on his clock, sock cladded foot padding carefully across the wooden floor.
Louis cracks the door open.And gasps.
A man lay crumpled at his doorstep—broad shoulders, bloodied knuckles, suit jacket stained dark. His curls were matted to his forehead with sweat and grime. His breathing was shallow, wheezing. One eye was already swelling shut. His scent was almost rotten.
Even through the bruises, Louis recognized that face—Liam’s friend. The one with the sharp angles and eyes that always looked tired. The one who never spoke in elevators even when Louis smiled sweetly at him. The one who always left his scent lingering in the hallways every time he visited Liam.
