    Summary

He came to you in your dreams, pulling the darkness like a shroud behind him.

The Executioner, the same as in the painting, yet utterly different. Real.

Before him you trembled, but his wrath was not directed to you. His was the righteous weapon of God’s will, and he held it pointed outward.

    Summary

(Jayce is easy. Jayce is predictable.)

The touch keeps him from protesting, keeps him from wriggling as Viktor lets his teeth brush against the tender inside of his wrist—soft, thin, skin barely concealing the pulse of blood and muscle and ligament and bone beneath them. “Remember how good you used to be?”

(AKA Viktor and Jayce fight in a warehouse. Jayce finally gets to see what's behind the Machine Herald's mask, Viktor experiences phantom pain.)

I refuse to support or engage with Riot's dumbass game, or 99.9% of the stuff that comes from it. This all comes from what I gleamed from watching Arcane, and that one time I played Legends of Runeterra to see Jayce call Viktor "V".

    Summary

And as Jayce stands in his house in Northern Piltover, as he looks at himself in his mirror and looks at his aging body and the scars that cover it, as he thinks and thinks about the past and the people—the person—he shared it with, he can confidently say that he has never cared for Viktor.

Jayce Giopara has never been in love. Maybe he never will be.

Jayce Giopara is not in love with Viktor. Jayce Giopara is not in love with the Machine Herald.

The Defender of Tomorrow has no interest in what the Machine Herald does and only cares that he doesn’t threaten the lives of the citizens of Piltover.

Jayce doesn’t care about Viktor, or his life, or his well-being, so there is no reason for him to go down to Zaun, just because the Machine Herald hasn’t been seen in four months.

    Right?

    Summary

A non-linear tale of a reconciliation several years in the making.

Meant to be read in the order they were published, but most work as a stand-alone so suit yourself. In case it makes it clearer, chronological order is:

Hobbesian Trap -> Non-zero Sum Game -> Prisoner's Dilemma -> Nash Equilibrium -> Bayesian Game
