Summary
After his death, Aemond learns the truth.
He realizes he was used a pawn by the HighTower's, The Starry Sept, and the Citadel in the great game. He knows the two main events that brought about the dance of dragons about mainly involved him, one completely his fault. The fight on Drift mark, and the Death at storms end. But when he is given a chance to go back and fix what he broke, he takes it.
He will do it. He will fix what he had broken. Even if he does have to become a 10-year-old again.
