    Dr. Carina DeLuca's day was going just like any other day, or even calmer than usual. If she was a superstitious woman, she’d believe something bad was about to happen but she didn’t believe in that sort of thing, even after having heard about the number of crazy things that have happened in the hospital over the years. So, there she was, sitting in her office reading through some recently published articles related to her specialty and enjoying the quiet day.

    That was until her phone chimed.

    The Italian pulled the device out of her lab coat pocket, which was hanging from the back of her chair, expecting to see someone paging her to the ER or something. She wasn’t expecting to see the notification of a text from Andy Herrera.

    Carina straightened up in her chair, trying not to think about the worst before unlocking her phone to open the text.
