Summary
After the energy beams hit Five at the end of season 3, he is left completely deaf. This is him trying to adjust to Reginald's new world with the help of Diego and Lila. That is until Reginald intercedes and lets him know that he is in need of his help. Five finds that he will have to keep giving until there is nothing left of him. However, Diego demonstrates that Five is not the only sibling willing to go to great lengths to keep his brother safe.

“Sonic-! No!” Panic overtook Shadow as Sonic went limp. The ebony hedgehog dashed forward to catch him, yanking the dart out of his arm. “You hurt him!” Shadow bared his fangs at Director Rockwell.
“Seize the two specimen.” That was an order. Soldiers surrounded the two hedgehogs and took aim.
Shadow clung to Sonic as sparks ignited across his fur and quills. “I won’t let you take him from me! Stop taking everything from me!”

JKR messed up a couple of things in her life (including her narrow minded disgusting opinions) and I am here to absolve you of that pain. This is my first fic here on AO3 and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it. This will be a collection of 3 works
1. Books 1, 2 and 3 (the introductory arc)
2. Books 4 and 5 (the plot building)
3. Books 6 and 7 (the ending we all deserved but did not get.)
It will follow the official plot line closely in the beginning but will turn into something entirely different later on. I will not be indulging in any underage smut writing because that makes me very uncomfortable. I will finish this fic even if it takes me years so fret not.
