“Hmph?” Chief Prosecutor Edgeworth didn’t even look up from the tax return he was currently examining. “Now? Don’t be ridiculous. We still have two years of receipts to sift through.”
Apollo and Prosecutor Gavin goggle as their bosses argue their way through the least-romantic proposal, engagement, and wedding they've ever witnessed. It's almost as if, to Mr. Wright and Mr. Edgeworth, wedded bliss is equivalent to a long bickering legal debate crammed in amid an ongoing investigation.

She quickly realizes that it's her Outer heritage coming back to bite her, but before the crew can make a recuperation trip back to Sol, their ship breaks down—and Vespa is tasked with venturing out to buy the part they need to fix it.
As if things weren't bad enough already, Buddy assigns her to complete this mission with Peter Ransom of all people. Peter Ransom who, come to think of it, has also been acting pretty oddly recently. What the hell is up with that?

A year after the events of Pacific Rim, Hermann Gottlieb rejoins the PPDC and finds it has changed drastically in his absence. He and Newton Geiszler are asked to pilot the Jaeger Occam's Razor, despite physical and mental handicaps that should bar them from becoming Rangers. The world is shifting violently in the absence of Kaiju, and the new Jaeger program is formed with questionable motives. Even as the k-sci boys struggle to understand their feelings for each other and where they fit into a system torn by revolt, they must also deal with the lingering presence of the Kaiju hivemind and a new wave of monsters completely different than any that came before.
