It was perfect. Or it would have been perfect if they weren't with two very strong and very powerful werewolves. But like it was mentioned, Wilbur’s energy was sapped away, leaving no room in his head for cognitive thought, just a happy fuzzy feeling, and warmth.
For the first time in years, he felt safe.
And if he tried hard enough, he could ignore the warning bells ringing in his head. He could ignore his instinct begging him to get Tommy to safety. He could ignore it all as his eyelids drooped, too heavy to keep open anymore. And when they closed, he was pulled into sleep’s void. A gentle place full of darkness and calm, where everything was in motion, but nothing moved.Or:

Summary
It didn’t take long for the heavy thumbing of large paws on the ground to reach the pup’s ears, and whoever it was crashed through the underbrush like a fucking bear.
There was a deafening growl, one that shook Tommy to the bone.
A blur of reds and mahogany streaked passed him, but the figure only paused for a moment before he rounded on the golden wolf. Tommy had barely managed to dodge Techno’s first lunge. There was no way he’d be able to do it again.
Or, Tommy is a werewolf pup that moves to a new town and unfortunately catches the eyes of the werewolf pack that runs it.

AU where Tommy remembers that Sam offered him a safe place to stay.
After Logstedshire is blown sky-high, Tommy needs a place to go, and there's a seven-foot creeper hybrid that's more willing than to help him. Tommy doesn't know how much he trusts the help (especially with Sam's roomates), but he's willing to try.
It's not like he's got a lot of options, anyway. And anything is better than Dream.
