More than anything, he wants to say. Doesn’t. Can’t. All he can manage is a weak nod.
“Then you will.”
Hitoshi pulls back, blinks up at him. “But—”
“You will.”
And Hitoshi lets himself fall forward, knowing Eraser will catch him.
Lets himself break apart, knowing his dad will hold every piece until he’s ready to put himself back together.
Until he’s ready to try again.

Hitoshi wants to be owned.
No, that’s not it. He’s been owned before, by yakuza marks and social workers and countless fosters in countless ways. This feels… different.
He’s seen how Denki cares for things he truly cherishes—how his eyes glimmer at the sight of his favorite cupcakes, how he brings them to his lips carefully, lapping at the frosting before savoring each and every bite. How, when he’s gifted clothing or jewelry, he never gets rid of them. Wears every piece until it’s falling apart or broken, and even then stores each item in a bedazzled box.
He wants to be owned by Denki.

Constriction: a method used by snakes to subdue or kill their prey.
Someone starts to get up. Katsuki latches onto them, palms sparking. They sit back down.
No one’s moving. No one’s leaving.
If they do, time will start again and this will all be real.
But everything is fine inside this bubble – warm and solid. Safe. Aizawa on one side, Yamada the other. Nothing bad is allowed to happen when they’re around. It’s a fucking rule.
Katsuki glances over and notices Aizawa isn’t shaking anymore—
See, everything’s fine. Nothing happened.

A gentle pressure surrounds him, engulfs him, from every side and angle. He’s never felt so sheltered, so safe. The pressure grounding, real.
He lets out a sob, dissolving into an endless stream of tears and half formed apologies.
They hold him through that too.
