Summary
They say it is in a moth’s nature to be drawn to a flame. They say it is inevitable she will flit through the air in a light-struck daze, drawing ever-closer to the mesmeric dance of ember and spark, before the merciless tendrils of fire reach her delicate wings and scorch away her fur.
And in her gruesome end at the hands of her desired pyre, she will not scream, nor will she struggle; for her devotion is stronger than that of the pain, and her final moments will be blissful in its warm embrace.
…But they also say some may rebel against nature if they believe themselves superior to it. Some may say the moth may turn to fire herself, and the flame will sprout her wings. That the moth may coax the blaze, leading its destruction to wherever she dances.Such rebellion is typically punished.
But Monch is yet to suffer any such repercussions.
