It’s supposed to be just another tight, physical game against the Voyageurs. Hard checks, ugly chirps, Rozanov bleeding a little for dramatic effect, the usual. Shane thinks he’s prepared. Ilya is, as always, one mildly illegal hit away from throwing hands. Bood is having the time of his life.
No one, however, is prepared for Luca Haas.

Directly alongside being taught those myths of magnanimous rulers and resplendent gods, he had been told since he was very young that he would be one such protagonist. Xie Lian could see it in the way he walked into a room with his head held high, in the confident swing of his sword, in the gleam in his eye when he imagined how he would change the country of Yong’an for the better.
More simply put, Xie Lian recognized it in Lang Qianqiu because the young prince looked too much like himself at the same age.
