Macaque’s heart drops, while Nezha shouts “that’s a fucking lie!”. Macaque, unfortunately, can’t agree with Nezha. He knows a liar when he sees one, and this smoky figure is not one of them. “He’s not lying.”
Nezha’s eyes go wide. He still can’t believe it. “Yes, he is! Even if he wasn’t, he must’ve done some fucking shit to him, altered his mind or something. There’s no way he's staying in that killing device!” Nezha yells. Macaque doesn’t have the heart to calm him down. There’s a daunting realization in him that he isn’t even surprised Wukong has done this.
(or, there is an artifact that makes one's dream world but drains them out of their magic. wukong has gotten himself into it, and makes it macaque's problem.)

He needed to be careful around his mother. No matter what.
He tried to guess what had caused her to be so upset this time. However, it could have been anything. Maybe it had been Wei Wuxian catching her attention by causing new unbridled mischief— or maybe his father, or himself.
