Sole shrugged into her backpack and then started fussing with her Vault suit sleeve. She pulled it up and Deacon's smile died on his face. Dear god, her forearm was like an artist’s pallet of color. Green, blue, red, yellow—some looked like fingerprints but others were just...smears, impossible to tell how they’d gotten there. Some nearly glowed with the intensity of the color and others were faded and dull.
He took three steps back before he registered it and started shaking his head. “No.”

“But you and MacCready are sleeping together, right?” Blue persisted. “I thought the freeway was a one-off but then Danse said you guys were messing around, at um, Bunker Hill. When he was headed back to the airport.”Silence. Hmmm. Dang, he was tough. She was almost ready to give up and change the subject when he sighed and said, “I mean, if you’re going to absolutely insist,” and he paused, as if waiting for her to demur.
She did not. “Mac’s my friend.”
Up to this point, Deacon had seemed completely untouchable, as uninterested in sex and romance as a monk. MacCready had brought out a whole different side to him and showed that he was touchable. What was that side of him like? What else was he hiding? She wanted to know.

Deacon mentally ticked off the life events that warranted 'congratulations' from random acquaintances and the bad feeling got worse. "Let me see that note."
MacCready glanced down at his hand as if surprised to see it there. "Sure, here," he said, handing it back. "Want some light?" He stretched and put on the little lamp on the table next to the bed. Part of Deacon was getting very distracted at having a warm, sleepy-smelling MacCready that was nearly naked pressed so close to him.
But even that was secondary to what was written on the paper. Well, crap. He didn't realize that he'd said it aloud until MacCready looked over at him, eyebrows raised. "What? It can't be that bad, the guard didn't kick us out?"
He handed it over silently and watched him read it. In Blue's neat writing: RJ MacCready will be occupying Home Plate for an unspecified period of time with my blessing, accompanied by his husband, for his honeymoon. Please extend the same courtesy to him that you would to me, blah, blah.

So I sort of stumbled into shipping these two jerks... This is a chronological set of stand-alone stories about how MacCready and Deacon ended up in a ....*gasp* relationship! Female sole on the outskirts, as well as brief appearances by some of the companions. Happy ending guaranteed but not until I get a chance to put them through some angst, pain, and suffering.

After the events of Into Darkness, Jim is suffering from survivor’s guilt and a multitude of medical problems brought on from having died. Spock and McCoy are doing all they can to help him through it.
Expect the recovery process to include lots and lots of emotional and physical whump.
(Set between Jim’s resurrection and the speech he gave at the end of Into Darkness. Keep in mind, an entire year passed in that time, so this will be a long fic. Let me also warn that it is a very heavy story and is very emotionally charged, so it may be at times distressing to read. Much of this is a study on mental health at its lowest.
