Summary
Tommy inhales sharply, chest heaving as he lifts his heavy face to meet the blurry outline of a man. And Tommy recognises him, because of course he would.
"I d-don't know what you're-"
Another sharp blow and Tommy is feeling saliva and blood dribble from the corner of his mouth. He works hard to maintain his glare.
"You've grown close"
Tommy didn't even answer. Was it true? He no longer considered them clients, so maybe this prick was right. But close? Tommy never got too close to his work...
The man reels back again and Tommy closes his eyes.
Or: Tommy is an undercover agent for the SBI, the most dangerous mafia in the state. When he gets captured, he can think only of them...

Summary
The vampire seems to notice Tommy's distress and makes an effort to relax, smoothing his face. "You do not need to be afraid fledgling, no one will hurt you again"
"...Why not?" Tommy finds himself asking. He had no reason to trust this freak yet here he was, curious. He'd spent his life afraid and running, any words to the contrary were lies or too good to be true.
"Because I am your Sire, and I will make sure no one even looks at you the wrong way"
He sounds unsteady, like his words are both faith and news to himself at the same time.
Tommy just thinks. No one wanted him back at the orphanage. He would not be mourned nor missed. Maybe... maybe he had a chance at a new life.
Was that such a bad thing?
Or: Techno sees a dying fledging and goes "Is anyone gonna Sire that?" and doesn't wait for an answer
