Somewhere in the far recesses of her brain, Kate knows this is a dumb idea. She should have gone straight back home after her trip to the corner store. Then again Kate hasn’t exactly covered herself in glory with her decision-making abilities in recent times anyway. Her rather questioning abilities that started with a lie in DC and ended with Lucy walking past her in the bullpen with tears running down her face right after she told Kate that she loved her. Loved. Past tense. Fuck.

Kate Whistler has one of the worst nights of her life but when it forces her and Lucy into circumstances they can't simply escape, it might just be worth it.
