The MSBY Black Jackals were vacationing on an island when lockdown measures were put in place due to a pandemic. While the rest of their teammates managed to get on the last flight back to Japan, Kiyoomi and Atsumu didn't make it.
To be stuck in close quarters with your enemy-slash-teammate in a foreign country for an indefinite period of time...it shouldn’t be too bad, right?

It made sense that Kiyoomi’s favorite color was kind of ugly. Kind of offensive and hard to look at for too long. Annoying.

Summary
They fall together with remarkable ease, an agreement that works for both of them. A way to relieve stress, a safe way to deal with any pent up tension. Atsumu's silly fancy from when he was a teenager is a thing of the past, Kiyoomi barely remembers the brazen confessions, the earnestness of those feelings.
“I—” Atsumu hesitates, looking up with a jerk. He looks panicked, frantic and unsure with wide eyes and a trembling mouth. Kiyoomi is scared too, the shape of Atsumu is still burned inside his body but his chest has already gone hollow.
“I like you,” Atsumu says. “I like you so much.” He pauses for a long moment before amending, “I love you. I’m sorry.”
It was never supposed to be like this.Alternatively: Five (5) times Atsumu (kind of) confesses and the one (1) time Kiyoomi takes his turn.

SakuAtsu - many years of angst and unrequited love (Kiyomi is demiromantic and it takes him some time to get on track with his feelings) but there are no malicious intentions or silly misunderstandings so the fluff is very healthy and warm and the story wrap up in the nicest way. Loved every chapter of it.
