Summary
Eddie's eyebrows shoot up as high as they can go. His heart is beating a rabbit rhythm against his chest. The floor below him crumbling into an abyss. He’s in free fall here, utterly helpless to the onslaught that is Steve’s confession.
Drunk confession.
The reminder does nothing to soften the blow when he feels calloused fingertips on the corner of his eye. “And your laugh lines, I don’t know anybody who has them. Not as deep as yours.” Steve’s fingers drag lower, to his cheeks, and brush against the scars on his jaw. “Has anybody ever told you that you laugh with your entire face?”
OR a reverse 5+1: The one time Steve drunkenly confesses all the things he likes about Eddie and the five times Eddie tries to fluster him with said attributes.

"How'd it start for you?" Eddie asks.
Steve sighs and gestures to the pool with his cigarette. "Right here," he says. Eddie tilts his head, uncomprehending. Such a tiny gesture, yet it makes something in Steve cringe, knowing what it means.
"Has anybody told you about Barb?" he asks. Eddie shakes his head.

Warmth seeped into his bones, swelteringly thick as light danced behind his eyelids. Heavy stillness weighed on one arm, the other pulled tight around something soft. Bony fingers tangled with his, calluses tickling him ever so slightly with each breath. With a sigh, his bedmate snuggled back into his chest, smothering him with a mass of curls that smelled of tobacco and cheap shampoo.
