Summary
The line between fiction and reality became blurred when a strange, powerful curse struck a sci-fi/fantasy convention, turning countless cosplayers into genuine superheroes, wizards, aliens, monsters, and more. Ten months since that incident, the world is still grappling with the sudden existence of the supernatural. The government and private businesses alike aim to recruit or restrain the most powerful beings around, while the weaker ones fall by the wayside.
But for those less fortunate ex-cosplayers, the ones that just want to end the curse and be human again, one name stands above the rest: Richard Turner. Forming a community with the goal of aiding victims of the curse, Richard has improved the lives of numerous transformed people, by playing within the rules of their character's stories. Despite his successes, however, he is far from a true cure, and the one person he wants to help most is always out of reach: His best friend Andy lies beyond the physical world, trapped in a fate worse than death.
Can Richard find a way to truly break the curse for Andy and the others? Or will Andy spend the rest of time in a never-ending nightmare?
