Kevin’s seen him grinning ferociously on the court, Kevin’s seen him covered in blood and holding a racquet in trembling hands, Kevin’s seen him dust-high on Eden’s dancefloor—
Kevin’s seen Aaron, and never quite managed to stop.
“What’s it?” Aaron asks, voice rough, eyes guarded. He’s so untrusting, even right now, even right here, but maybe that’s the only way you make it to twenty-two when you’re Aaron Minyard. Always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Aaron is still looking over there, and Kevin doesn’t want to be the Son of Exy right now; he wants to be the boy who Aaron complains about psych majors to and offers bites of his pancakes to and grins up at over a scraped knee and grazed palms from the parking lot tarmac.

Summary
He turns, ready to abandon the dance floor and their friends once and for all, and then stops dead in his tracks.
There’s a man at the table, with Andrew. He’s leaning on it, both forearms flat, putting his back into a suggestive arch. He’s talking to Andrew, eyes lidded and entirely too much tongue escaping his mouth, and Andrew…hasn’t asked him to leave.
Neil watches, frozen, as Andrew takes the man in, and then responds, only for the man to lean in even closer.
Neil can understand the connections he has now, the friendships he’s built, the fact that he has people to rely on outside of himself.
There is a quiet truth he knows. One that Andrew and him circle around so tentatively, that understanding of why Andrew asked him to stay, and why Neil needed to hear it so badly in the first place.
This though, this is something Neil Josten doesn’t quite understand, but Abram has always been so intimately acquainted with jealousy.

“I told you that I did b-boying,” Zuko replied, disgruntled voice muffled by Sokka’s chest. “What else did you think I meant?”
“I don’t know! I thought it was like, book-boying? Like the rest of your nerd aesthetic! How was I supposed to know that you were secretly doing one-armed handstands and battling it out on the streets?"
“What does that even mean,” Zuko grumbled.

“I have Riko’s keys and can pick the front lock.” he said “Everyone is either asleep or distracted with ERC bullshit. There will never be another time and if you do not leave, Riko will kill Kevin, then you, and then me. I will not let that happen. You and Kevin are leaving.”
Jean’s breathing sped up as Nate shoved a sweatshirt over his bare chest “Nate what’s going on?”
Nathaniel's face twisted in anguish. There was no easy way to break the news. Nate gripped Jean’s hand in an attempt to keep the shaking within his own at bay. “Riko broke Kevin’s hand. Shattered it. He’s never going to play again. You have to get him out. You both have to get out.”OR

It is a horrible realization to have, that perhaps Zuko hadn’t thought this entirely through.
Because Sokka is everywhere.
He is in council, he is in the palace, in the barracks, the merchant yards, the gardens. He is bouldering his way into Zuko’s rooms without a second glance at the guards and dragging him out to go sightseeing, to go to the markets, to lay in the sand and watch the stars.
He is everywhere, and he is beautiful.
Or: Zuko asks his friend to come to the Fire Nation as a new council member, and struggles to survive under these conditions.

He'd always had a knack for languages and lying and all the 'messy stuff' came easily enough when your father is called the Butcher of Baltimore. So Nathaniel became the Wraith. He was untraceable, unknowable, infalliable; a criminal fairytale.
When Kevin Day leaves the Nest, there's no better person to send.

"Who the hell are you?" Andrew demanded.
He wasn't anyone, not really; not anymore. He hadn't really been anyone in years now. There'd been a time. Once. But there were entire lifetimes between who he could have been and what he'd become. He could taste it sometimes; blackberries and sand stinging his tongue like the iron branded on his shoulder.
It was easier to pretend he'd never been anyone at all.
"I'm nothing," he answered. The ghost of a smile pulled at his lips; sharp and cruel. "A wraith." The Wraith, he didn't say, but the shadows ran through Andrew's eyes and he wondered if Andrew had heard it anyways.
