  1. Summary

He took him by the hands and this one by the face, but he didn't touch the other one at all. He ran his slender fingers through her hair. He whispered sweet nothings into their ear. In different locations at different times. Morning or exactly midnight.

    Tears always accompanied Kaeya.

    Summary

“Listen, I’m sure you’re a great guy, but I’m not looking for a relationship right now.”

Dainsleif frowns. He has never, in his entire life, been delusional enough to think he could pull Diluc Ragnvindr, but still, harsh.

“Okay ? Neither am I,” he says blankly, because he has no idea of how he’s supposed to react to this statement.

“Then why did Yelan give you my address?" Diluc asks, crossing his arms.

It occurs to Dainsleif that he isn’t the only person Yelan has victimized in the past forty-eight hours. He puts Diluc out of his misery.

    “I’m the photographer.”

    - or, a disenchanted singer and a disillusioned photographer meet by chance - i.e., the creative recruitment methods of a slightly insane manager - effectively upturning their lives for the better.

I have no words. It was both so silly with the Zag, Hypnos and Meg trio as well as so touching with Ares and Than. I just love how the encounters of our dear married couple are written. They have that poetic quality to them? Anyways, Death and War really do fit together here quite nicely.

    Summary

Kaeya was never supposed to fall in love—not with a Harbinger, not with someone as volatile and infuriating as him.

    Summary

Capitano squeezes his thighs so hard they feel like they might bruise. Kaeya hopes they will—hopes that tomorrow, when Capitano has surely long disappeared like smoke in the night, he'll have the fingerprints as proof that they were here like this: ensconced in the privacy of this room, the curtains drawn against the rest of the world, the only witnesses their own ghosts.

"Are you afraid of monsters, Kaeya?" Capitano asks, his lips barely moving behind the veil. "Not the fairy tale ones, but those Death herself has touched."

It's so hauntingly beautiful. I have put that fic aside for way too long! It's so well-done. The dialoges? The overall characterisation? It's just beautiful once again. MUST REREAD

    Summary

A role for every place and situation. This is how these two actors have lived different stages of their lives for as long as they can remember. What role will the knight, who is actually a king, assume when he meets another knight, who is acting as a pawn? Perhaps mutual falsehood is the most authentic thing they know. Perhaps the fiction of the game, of this never-ending performance, becomes real.

“Each of us plays a role. It is in these roles that we know each other; that we know ourselves. The concept we have formed of ourselves—the role we strive to live—is our truest self.”

—Erving Goffman. The Presentation of Persona in Everyday Life.
