Summary
Luke feels his breath catch and the want to run away intensify three-fold as a towering, black figure strides into the room, walking between the rows of troops. He can feel every other being in the room tense as well, as atmosphere itself seeming to freeze.
The quiet is loud, only cut by the even louder breathing coming from the figure. Despite never having seen this being before, just like everyone else in the galaxy, he understands what his presence means.
‘Darth Vader.’ His mind supplies, the title rattling in his head like a desert snake’s tail. A warning before the strike of fangs. He had heard the name whispered many times before.OR:
A young Luke is enslaved by Jabba the Hutt after his aunt and uncle's moisture farm is destroyed. This coincidence is what leads to him crossing paths with the most feared being in The Galaxy.

On hindsight, Jason probably should have heeded his injuries from the previous night and stayed in. Maybe he should have swallowed his pride and asked for some Bat-assistance. But 20/20 was stupid, he was already in this situation and didn’t want to think of mistakes and regrets. Besides, the Bats and him were tenuous allies at best, nothing more. No reason for them to answer his call for help.

When he confided in the working girls one quiet Tuesday night, they each soothed his fears in turn, telling him, “no honey, what you have there is a blessing,” with a somewhat sad smile.
But Jason instead thought himself cursed. What else would someone call having the power to hurt everyone close to you with the softest of touches and the most gentle of whispers? What else would someone call having the ability to kill someone with a word, whether intentionally or the horrible otherwise?
What else could he call it when he remembered how the burning anger on his father’s face had suddenly disappeared? Replaced by abject apathy at Jason’s hand and his shouted command. Except it hadn’t been a command, nor a plea, only the angry words of a scared child. He hadn’t meant them, not really. Not literally.
Yeah. Jason wouldn’t call that a blessing.

Summary
Jason still feels like a corpse. It’s an ever-present sensation that plagues him with the thoughts of if he ever really left his grave or if this is his own personal Hell.
He knows he wasn't a saint, but he didn't think he deserved this. Everything he has ever wanted is so close, but it's convoluted, just out of his grasp. Mocking him.
The Waynes are safe, alive, and entirely moved on from him. His memory abandoned, all those promises of love and family forgotten with no trace left behind.
Gotham is safer than it ever has been, and yet Crime Alley is still left to its own devices.
Women, children, fragile, scared, and desperate people are still abandoned by those who have promised to save them. And each overdose, each suicide, each rape, and each murder is just another statistic, another insignificant casualty.
Are they really that beyond saving?
Is he?
Or
A retelling of all the events from the moment Jason wakes up in his coffin, past the end of Under The Red Hood. In which some events play out differently and Jason’s thoughts are explored deeper.
