Summary
Instead of killing Owen, Curt elects to wipe his memory using Barb's experimental technology. Now an unsuspecting actor with a semblance of a normal life, Owen takes notice of the mysterious man who attends all of his shows. Curt orbits Owen, torn between moving on and yet eternally drawn back toward the man he once loved. The two foster an unlikely friendship, which might become something more... but secrets and memories don't stay buried long.

“Oh, where are my manners?” Owen’s crisp and velvety voice interrupted Curt’s thoughts. “I haven’t introduced myself! My name is Eliot.”
Curt would always think of Owen as Owen. His Owen, the Owen who held him at gunpoint and killed countless innocents, and liked to sing softly to himself while he made breakfast. Curt had taken his name and his memories, but he couldn’t bring himself to take Owen’s life. To take Owen’s memory.
“My name is Curt.” He spoke softly.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Curt.” Owen– Eliot– replied with a smile.
And in that moment, Curt knew that he was in too deep. Moving on be damned, Curt would do it over countless times if only for the chance to hear his name from Owen’s mouth again.

Summary
Ed is an engineer aboard the Revenge, an interplanetary research vessel on a multi-year mission to study Jupiter's moon Europa. An accident requires that Ed awaken from cryostasis over six months early, and finds his only companion to be Stede, the ship's onboard AI. They develop an unconventional friendship, but is it possible to have more?
This is classic mutual pining with a sci-fi twist, inspired by all of my favorite stories about the nature of personhood.

“You–” Ed was struggling to parse what Stede was saying. “You’re playing your version of this song for me, right now? Like, in real time?”“Yes, Edward, that’s correct,” said Stede softly.
Ed’s brain momentarily seized up. He supposed it made sense that Stede was capable of learning a set of rules to do something like arrange and play a piece of music. There was something unnerving about this song, though. It felt, well–it felt organic . Reactive. Almost collaborative in a way. Ed was lost in the push and pull of it, until the last notes softly petered out.
“So, what did you think?” asked Stede. It sounded nervous again. Why the hell would someone program an anxiety response into a bot?

It takes a lot to make me cry. This did. I can't sum up all of my feelings here (and no one will read them), but god did I need this fic. It's beautiful, I cannot recommend it enough.
