During some much-needed downtime aboard the Resolute, Rex makes the rounds attempting to track down Torrent’s medic, Kix. The captain finds a whole lot more (shenanigans) along the way and realizes that he doesn’t have to shoulder the burden of being an ori’vod and second-in-command alone.

Summary
“When was the last time you ate?” Kix asks suspiciously. Rex blinks slowly, trying to ignore the stars that dance over his eyes as he waits for the question to register in his brain. He can’t remember the last time he slept, much less ate, and it’s hard to think of anything but the way his head is throbbing and pounding underneath his skull.
“This morning,” Rex hopes that his voice has the right amount of casual and authoritative; maybe then Kix will leave him alone and use his time to torment the Shinies or whatever he does when he’s not pestering Rex to voluntarily admit to something that will most definitely land him in the MedBay and prevent him from making any progress in the mountain of flimsiwork currently burying his desk.
Unfortunately, Kix does not look convinced. “Uh huh. And just to be sure, what day is it?”
“Primeday?”
“Captain.” The way Kix manages to fit a whole range of disappointment into that one word is nothing short of artistic.
Or, after a long and disastrous campaign out in the field, Rex returns to find his desk entirely hidden under stacks and stacks of data pads. With both Anakin and Ahsoka recovering in the MedBay, it falls on Rex to keep the entire 501st going.

Summary

Alpha-17 valiantly resists the urge to facepalm.
“That,” he says, pointing to the small lump sleeping in Cody’s bunk.
“Oh!” Cody is smiling that my-shit-don’t-stink smile that Seventeen knows means he’s going to have a raging headache later. “That’s CT-7567. I call him ‘67.”
Or, how Cody found Rex, decided he was the best thing in all of Kamino, and forced Alpha-17 to adopt him. Rex would just like to not get decommed, please. Wolffe, back the heck off.
