Summary
Jedi General Vela Taren survives what she shouldn’t, bound to the one person who was never supposed to spare her. Maul leaves the bond wide open like a door he expects her to walk through, and Vela, furious and confused, does.
As the Clone Wars grind on, the connection turns from weapon to wound to lifeline. The Council tries to “correct” what they can’t sever. Vela starts to crack, reaches for power she was raised to fear, and discovers the dark doesn’t always feel like temptation. Sometimes it feels like survival.
