    Summary

Turns out, nationwide catastrophe is remarkably sobering. Selfishly, Kirishima finds himself thinking often that nearly losing Bakugo was almost more so. Guilt has set up a permanent home in his gut, and the smoldering remains of the devastation from the war’s fallout seem to constantly linger in the air around them. It is a grave reminder of their humanity— as is the very fact that Bakugo walks beside him, seeming far smaller than before. Kirishima pulls him closer, and they finish their walk to the dorms in silence.

A look at some moments Kirishima and Bakugo share in their second year at Yuuei.

It smiled again, a hole the size of Katsuki’s AP shot in his chest, blood dripping on to Kirishima’s spotless floor because Katsuki just mopped today and he couldn’t breathe. He feels like he’s choking on his own tongue and panic was rising in him faster than anger ever did.

“Hey, Katsuki, come on man. Breathe with me.” Next to him, a voice. “Come on, in for three out for three, you can do it.” Kirishima

    Summary

At Greyhaven, everyone were always welcome. Regardless of who they are, what they had done, or where they came from, they were welcome to stay for however long they needed.

Eijirou had seen through the window how the man had pulled up to the residents parking lot, gotten out of the vehicle like it was a physical battle, and how he now had been standing outside just stalling for the past ten minutes. The blonde man at the gate did not touch the sign, like most people did. They usually traced the words with their fingers like a ritual, tested the wood, pressed their palms flat like they were checking for warmth. Making sure they had arrived at the right place.

The man read it once. Then again. Then a tenth time. Did not touch it. Then he looked past it, into the camp, as if he were trying to decide whether it could survive his presence.

"Of course you’re leaving,” Miklan called after him. Sylvain was sure everyone was staring at them. That’s how these things typically went. “You’re no fucking good.”

Finally. Something they could agree on.

With his mind swimming and his hands numb from cold, he called a car to drop him off at an address he knew by heart.

He wonders if Bakugou’s awake. Probably too late, he thinks, punching the elevator button. He worked the early shift today. He’s been on those a lot. Probably asleep. But, Eijirou thinks, legs heavy trodding down the hallway, hands missing the keyhole the first time, it would be nice to hear his-

    Oh.

A late night for Eijirou turns into a late night hello.
