The Gods looked on and on and on. And when the living world continued to fall and newly reborn dragons and all those capable of hatching and flying them did as well – they looked back and back and back.
If only Dragons had not danced and died out. If only all the dragons of this era lived and produced more hatchlings that would grow to the size of the likes of Vhagar and Balerion. If only so many children of House Targaryen hadn’t perished – preventing from more dragonriders being born.
Perhaps the Song of Ice and Fire would have ended on a happier, more triumphant note.
Perhaps and if only.
But unlike a very mortal Alicent Hightower – they had magic and did as they had done before.
They interfered.

In which Helaena Targaryen finally gets enough courage to utilize the gifts the Gods of Valyria bestowed on her, and performs a ritual to send herself back into her infant body. Unfortunately, they did not inform her that every gift demands a sacrifice, so instead of being born into the family she knows and loves, she instead awakes as Helaena, eldest child and only daughter of the Realm’s Delight and Rogue Prince, who took her First Night whilst her Sea Serpent husband was mired in grief over his lost love.
Can Helaena possibly fight her way back to throne, when she must contend with the wishes and proposed betrothals of the Black faction, the distrust and suspicion of her beloved Greens, and worst of all, the apathy of her once-brother, former and (perhaps) future husband, the rightful king, Aegon the Golden?
Can love possibly conquer all, when Helaena isn’t entirely sure that she and her only lover, ever really loved one another at all?

Lex's 12th birthday, saved by Ms. Lois Lane
“You don’t want it. Hand it over,” she says, raising her eyebrow like the general does.
“Why should I?” The boy says. Lois squints and takes the thirty dollars she has on her out from her backpack, the sum total of what’s left of birthday money her uncle gave her. She keeps it next to her so the other girls boarding can’t steal it, and it’s literally her only route to snacks.
“This enough?” Lois says, waving it around.
“I’m not poor,” the kid scoffs.
One of the others fishes in his backpack and hands her some thick fancy card. “I’ll take it,” he says. “My mom’s cut off my allowance.”
Wow. The birthday invite’s even got some sort of curly script. Lois hates to say it, but she kinda gets why no one wants to go. Nobody likes her, but nobody bullies her. Maybe she should give this Luthor kid some pointers.
