Summary
Brimsley had never been particularly fond of Reynolds. In fact, if he was honest with himself, he downright despised the King's Man. He always treated everyone around him with disdain and never even tried to become friends with the rest of the staff. He could be only ever found in the presence of the King, or no one at all. At first, Brimsley thought that this life must be lonely, so he tried to invite him to their gatherings. When that did not work, he tried to engage him in a conversation, but it did not take long for him to figure out the truth. Reynolds was not shy, he was not even awkward. He was just an asshole.
OR
Brimsley needs to get the King to talk to his mother and Reynolds is in his way.
