Summary
Illuga never learns from his mistakes.
He turns his back in fear. He runs away like a coward. And every time, whoever he leaves behind ends up dead. Which means that when Illuga evacuates Nod Krai and leaves Flins to face the Doctor without him by his side, he must have surely sentenced him to his death, just like all the others Illuga left behind before.
It is only in the wake of that realization, as he deals with his grief, that Illuga finally allows himself his feelings for the other man.

Summary
When she looks up, there’s a man in front of the receptionist desk.
“Welcome to Wangshu Inn,” she says, eyes wide. She didn’t hear him come in. He smiles impishly, almost childlike. “Are you—“ Verr Goldet gathers her scattered papers. “Are you looking to spend the night?”
A pretty white flower peeks from his cap. It’s a Cecilia, the ones that grow on Starsnatch Cliff.
“So this is where he's staying in between his fighting and slaying,” the man remarks in a singsong voice. It's vaguely irritating. “How quaint!”
Verr Goldet smooths down her wind blown hair and clears her throat pointedly. “How may I help you?”
His smile widens. “I’ve been looking for a certain patron of yours. I’m not sure what name he goes by now…he has a sharp pointy spear, a permanent scowl on his face?”

Verr Goldet gets a strange visitor one night who claims to be looking for her most elusive patron.
