Summary
Harry is doing quite alright after the war. He's not going back to Hogwarts, but it's not like anyone can blame him for not going back to where he died, and he's still getting his NEWTs remotely. He's fine, he's busy renovating his house and getting rid of all the unsavory bits of magic scattered all over the place, and he doesn't really need anyone's help.
Except, Narcissa Malfoy is suddenly there, week after week to make sure he doesn't destroy her family's legacy, and then she keeps coming back even after Harry's done with the place. Somehow they become friends? Harry has no idea how that happened, but he decides he likes it very much. Likes her maybe a bit more than that, too.

“I died.” Cedric said certainly, “And You-Know-Who returned.”
There was a brief silence before the Weasley Twins let out simultaneous, comically exaggerated sighs of relief, miming wiping sweat from their foreheads.
“Really dodged an AK there, I reckon,” Fred said.
“Yeah, really glad neither of those things happened, that would’ve been awful,” George agreed.
Harry let out a snort. “Definitely. The slimy bastard monologues like a bloody cartoon villain, I’d have lost my mind before sixteen.”
Everyone stared at him.

Summary
Anthony Bridgerton has been brought in to speak at Penelope Featherington's university at the last minute, after a colleague had to drop out. Penelope has been assigned to be his escort and make sure he has everything he needs. They've known each other for years, but Penelope has never been more than Eloise's shy friend, and Anthony has always been too intimidating for Penelope to ever really have a conversation with him.
Everything is going fine, Anthony's charming the audience with his speech, when Penelope catches something in the audience. A glint of something shiny. She reacts before she has time to think, and ends up taking a bullet that was meant for Anthony. Suddenly the girl he never noticed is the only person who matters. And when the doctors tell him only family is allowed to see her, Anthony has to get creative.
