    that in itself isn't very surprising, but when it's the opening phrase of the vidyadhara cloudhymn elegies dan feng used to listen to, melodies supposed to be washed away by the waves of time and chaos, dan heng can't help himself.

    'dan heng, do you know this song?'
    of course he knows it, dan feng had listened to it endlessly in his childhood. he never thought he could hear it again.
    caelus hums. 'the eggs love it when i hug and sing to them, so they share their memories with me.'
    dan heng doesn't say anything, because he feels the same as those unborn eggs.
