"Deary? Shouldn't you be in bed?" Alastor asks. Finally pushing his glasses up as he unties his apron. But he doesn't get a response. He looks back over at Charlie when hanging up the kitchenware. Brow raised.
The child is unusually quiet. Gaze to the floor. Still hiding behind the wall. "Charlie?" Alastor asks again. Making sure to keep his tone patient and quiet. Not wanting to disturb Lucifer, who is actually on the other side of the building. So it wouldn't make much of a difference anyway. Alastor still isn't used to such a large home, despite working for the family for a while now. He walks towards the child with his hands behind his back. Head tilted. "Do you need something, dear?" He asks.
Charlie finally looks up, making her eyes visible. Instantly, Alastor sees that they're slightly red, and her cheeks are a little wet. A choked cry escapes the child as she runs over to Alastor. Immediately wrapping her arms around his long legs.

I was able to escape because of my connection to the hexcore.” His gaze drifted to the rune in her hand. He frowned. “Jayce wasn’t. I worry that they would simply confiscate the rune without hearing me out.”
Mel looked at the rune as it seemed to hum ever-so-slightly. “He’s still in there,” she said. Relief flooded her, and a kind of joy she hadn’t felt since before the battle at Piltover.Or: in the aftermath of their decision to reverse the conversion, Jayce ends up trapped in the rune. Viktor follows Mel to Noxus to ask for her help and together they learn how to use their arcane abilities and investigate the Black Rose.
