Summary
When they arrive, he fishes the key out of the lockbox, entering the code. They’re staying in the basement of the house– his aunt’s request, to avoid having to clean the entire house. Shoko doesn’t say anything– often she forgets just how far the Gojo family's wealth extends, Swiss bank accounts, designer watches. Vacation homes. They head down the stairs, and Satoru is abhorred to find that the basement, which stands alone from the rest of the house as a self-contained apartment, is a one-bed. His hands clam up, and he feels sheepish. Terrified that Shoko would feel uncomfortable. He could sleep on the couch– he wouldn’t mind doing that.
“Shoko– I didn’t mean,” He says. “I can call my aunt and see if we can get a key for the upstairs–”
Shoko waved him off.
“It’s okay– we can just share,”

They were all passionate about the band. All dedicated. Even as the seasons changed around them, life moved on. Each gig made them bigger and bigger. Their Instagram page had blown up. There were four young people, at the top of their game, with a couple of singles recorded that they were pushing. Things were going well– they hadn’t been signed, but there’d been a little bit of chatter around the local scene that some agents had stumbled into town looking for them. They were so close, so close.
And Kugisaki was screwing it all up.

Nobara is quiet. She listens to his proposition. She looks tired, exhausted even. He knows that deep down, she wants a break; she’s just too proud to admit it. Seeing it as a sign of weakness. Eventually, her shoulders loosen.
“Alright,” She says, handing him her laptop. “Only if we can get someone to look out for granny, I don’t want her driving,”
“I thought she was off the road?” Megumi raises a brow.
Nobara shakes her head and chuckles.
“No, not that crazy old bat. She retakes her driving test every year so she can stay on the roads. Pretty sure she cheats anyway, her sight is awful.”
