"Oh, I'm sure. Have you got a vacation planned?"
It's a little funny that they're not really talking about football, but Jamie can't even complain— he's been living and breathing absolutely nothing but football for months now, going straight from the end of the season into preparation for the tournament. It's refreshing, like, to talk about literally anything else.
"Yeah, yeah. I've got a lovely villa on a beach booked for my husband and I, right." He pushes a hand through his sweaty hair, shoving it out of his face. "We're headed there tomorrow, straight from here, and I can't wait."
He doesn't even realize what he's said until he sees the interviewer's shocked face, and the curious glances from everyone who's been listening in nearby.
"I'm sorry. Your... husband?"

"Are you waiting for a fucking invitation?" Roy says, walking out of his office and noticing Jamie sat there, the last one left in the dressing room. "Move it, Tartt."
Jamie opens his mouth, closes it, and opens it again. Roy stares him down.
"Um, I can't—" He holds up his casted hand, his face growing hot. "I can't do my laces, Coach."
