This story is a re-write of WorkForce (s7e16). The key differences are that Chakotay was captured along with the rest of the crew, so he’s on Quarra with no memories of Voyager, and Tom was never captured and he’s working his ass off (along with Harry, Neelix, and the Doctor) trying to save the crew.

Summary
After re-watching Superman Returns, I can't get the question of how Lois, Clark, and Richard would handle those family dynamics after the credits roll out of my head. Superman's answer, "I'm always around," is supremely unsatisfying.
But, the Donner-verse isn't my favorite canon. Especially since Superman and Lois can't be together with his super powers in tact. So, I've transported that ending scenario (and the events of the movie) into a universe more similar to Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, with a new backstory for Jason's conception.
Can Lois and Clark build a relationship together, even if their family started with so big of a secret? Where does Richard, an all around good guy, and the only father Jason has ever known, fit in? How does Jason begin to deal with his burgeoning powers? There's no strong A-Plot to this story, just following these characters through their daily lives as they wrestle with these questions.

But then, mere moments after the ship leaves dock, he walks straight onto her bridge and calls her Kathryn.
He claims to be a time traveller. He claims to be her XO. He claims to be her best friend, from seven years in the future.
Together, they save the day and fix the ship.
And then he disappears back to the future he came from, and Kathryn is left with too much knowledge of the life that is waiting for her. Somehow, she must live through the next seven years knowing exactly where she is going to end up, for better or worse.
This fic follows the events of Shattered - 7x11 - from past-Janeway’s point of view, and then jumps through the rest of the series to see how her knowledge of the future shapes her relationship with Chakotay.
